Air Conditioning

Continuing with our policy of offering the right service and equipment at the right price, we at Cridge Auto Services have extended our range of quality products to include air conditioning services. We offer car aircon recharge (regassing), servicing and diagnostics. With more vehicles fitted with air conditioning and climate control systems as standard these days, many of us are becoming familiar with using aircon all year round, keeping you cool in summer and mist free in winter. However, few customers are aware that like other parts of your car, the air conditioning system also needs regular maintenance to ensure it works efficiently all year round. Your air conditioning system can actually lose up to 15% of its coolant every year, which means that it could have a serious impact on the performance of the system and may lead to damage on the components involved. This is why car manufacturers recommend your aircon system is recharged with gas and lubricant every 2 years. However, this is not included during routine vehicle servicing, so if your vehicle is more than 2 years old it's probably due a recharge.

Why have your aircon serviced

Image
Not cold enough?
Windows not demisting?
Strange noises when A/C is on?
A poorly performing car air conditioning system can cause a build up of fungus, bacteria and other microbes growing inside the evaporator core, causing a smell.
Have your car aircon system serviced every 24 months. It will say that in your car manufacturers service guide, yet when your car is serviced, your A/C system is never serviced. It's an extra, chargeable item, but vital to have done.
A poor aircon system can increase your fuel costs, as the air conditioning pump needs to work harder.
